This mixtape represents unreleased material from 1997 through 2007 - with the exception of High Hill's Regret where the drums were recorded in 2006 and guitars tracked in 2022. These pieces serve not only as an historical document, but also as an examination of the duality of Hifi Envelope as a project rooted in electro-acoustic experimentation and the pop aesthetic that has been a driving force in my work. My philosophy since the inception of this project has been to do what I can with the resources available at the time with little to no regard for the constraints of genre or fidelity. This defining principle has been liberating at times while at others a limitation. No matter the results, I strive for authenticity and sincerity. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for listening.
